The COVID-19 Stimulus Package / CARES Act for Nonprofits provides new charitable deductions :
  1. A new federal deduction is available for up to $300 per taxpayer ($600 for a married couple) in annual charitable contributions in 2020, even if they do not itemize their deductions.
  2. Individuals can elect to deduct cash contributions, up to 100% of their 2020 adjusted gross income, on itemized 2020 tax returns. This is up from the previous limit of 60%.
Additionally, the Colorado Child Care Contribution tax credit enables you to deduct 50% of your gift on your state taxes. For example, if you donate $1,000, you will receive $500 back on your taxes! As always, please consult with your tax advisor.

SPONSOR A DREAMER SCHOLAR

A donation of $3,000 per year for 10 years will sponsor one of 60 Dreamer Scholars for a new class. This donation level breaks down to about $8 per day and helps provide after-school programming services from first grade through high school graduation, along with a $10,000 last dollar scholarship for post-secondary education. When you sponsor a Dreamer Scholar, you collectively help sponsor a new Dreamer Scholar class in our community and you change a child’s life forever. Contact Donor Relations Manager Katharine Reece (Katharine.Reece@ihaveadreamboulder.org) to discuss the possibilities.

ReFUND CO

ReFUND CO highlights an easy way to support the “I Have A Dream” mission.

If you get a state income tax refund in 2020, you will have a new opportunity to donate some or all of it to support our ongoing work in the community.

The new program described by the ReFUND CO initiative puts you in charge of where your donation goes. It’s as simple as 1, 2, 3:

  1. Decide how much of your refund to donate.
  2. Enter I Have A Dream” Foundation of Boulder County and our registration number 20023003468 in the Donate to a Colorado Nonprofit Fund line on your state income tax return or tax software—or just give this info to your tax preparer when you share your tax documents.
  3. Be delighted knowing you’ve helped a cause that matters to you!

With this new program, you can re-energize our important work for another year.

Learn more about this program at RefundWhatMatters.org.

As you likely know, we do not charge tuition or fees for the services we provide. As such, we couldn’t do this work without your past support. We hope you’ll consider continuing your support in this new way.
